The Vietnamese Biblical Theology Society (VBTS) is a non-profit organization public charity status exempt from federal income tax under IRC Section 501 (c) (3).
The Vietnamese Biblical Theology Society (VBTS) has formally established a cooperative relationship with The Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) to foster collaboration involving resources on SBL’s Bible Odyssey website (bibleodyssey.org). The goal of this cooperation is to enhance each organization’s effectiveness in biblical scholarship and to provide VTBS with resources that serve its mission and to introduce Bible Odyssey to Vietnamese readers.
Founded in 1880, the Society of Biblical Literature is the oldest and largest learned society devoted to the critical investigation of the Bible based on the Humanities’ core disciplines. With over 8,000 members worldwide, it represents and convenes scholars whose life work is in biblical and ancient Near Eastern studies. The SBL promotes the academic study of the Bible and of sacred texts generally.
The Society of Biblical Literature fosters biblical scholarship by developing resources for diverse audiences, including scholars, students, religious communities, and the general public. SBL encourages the work of Vietnamese Biblical Theology Society (VTBS) in making such resources as Bible Odyssey available to its readers. By translating Bible Odyssey articles into Vietnamese, VTBS strategically collaborates with SBL in serving biblical studies internationally.
